South Glastonbury Public Library

Our Story
The South Glastonbury Library is on the national registration of historic places.
The South Glastonbury Public Library was chartered in 1926 by a group of local residents who received permission to use a privately owned 1828 brick building that was originally a Methodist church. After successfully operating the library for the first 15 years, the building was gifted and deeded to the Association in 1941. It has remained a borrowing library open to anyone from any town who simply fills out an information card.
The South Glastonbury Public Library serves primarily as a reading library. It maintains a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books for both children and adults.
